As many of you know, Crystal Ridge is land owned by Milwaukee County Parks who leases it to the current ski hill operator for recreational use. The long term plan for the land is uncertain, but it will likely remain "public" in some sense and hopefully our use as MTBers will continue. One idea that has been brought up has been to upgrade Crystal Ridge to an actual "Bike Park" like Valmont (Valmont link) in Colorado..

Now Alpine Bike Parks has a new, affordable program to help groups like us move forward and jump start the process.

Please take a couple of minutes to review both the Valmont link and the Park Start link and leave some feedback here..

I also missed the last meeting.  I'd like to get involved with the fundraising team.  Who should I contact?

I work for a restaurant group with a very cycling centric ethos.  I believe that we could possible host a fund raising event when the time is right.  Also I have a friend who ran a very successful Kickstarter project and raised over $300,000 for the start of his business.  I think the SE Wisconsin mtb community would be willing to fork over some dough to see the bike park project lift off

Sounds great!  I would suggest contacting Chris Cooper.  He'll be at the Odd Tuesday Ride tonight fyi...

So I just found out about "the rock sports complex" thing that they're going to be building on the Crystal Ridge property, does anyone know what they have planned for the mt bike trails? Will we have to pay a fee to ride? Is Alpha included in this thing?

There's a meeting to discuss the complex as a whole tonight in Franklin, but I can't go.

Public meeting tonight at the Franklin city hall 7:00PM

Since I was unable to go to the public meeting. Did anyone on here attend?

This discussion has mostly moved over to FBook.....https://www.facebook.com/groups/CrystalRidgeBikePark/
