Bad news friends, we'll have to wait a little bit longer now.
"Despite the extensive progress already made on the new Ray's MTB, the official grand opening has been delayed."

Permalink Reply by Steveo Hailer on January 1, 2011 at 10:19am And it was AWESOME ! Rode 4 hours, ran into old friends and made new ones !
Its too bad city of Milwaukee made them rip out 1/5th of the XC loop and all of the pump track to install a dry wall fire wall between them and the car dealership next door. Crazy to me because it's NOT a common wall ?
Will be nice when the XC loop at it's longest and the pump track is open.
So fun ! trying to find a way to get back there this weekend, dont want the GF to feel like a bike widow.

Permalink Reply by Steveo Hailer on September 7, 2011 at 3:02pm Dont even want to talk about the summer, went from riding everyday at Rays to getting out a handful of times. Hello to gaining ten pounds over summer.... I would pay $500 a year for a season pass to Rays that allows me to ride year round and just avoid the areas under construction ! There I said it !
I talked to a friend that has been in and witnessed all the changes to Rays MTB MKE and he/she says the place has significant changes. I dont want to steal Ray's thunder and post things that are under wraps until they open, but I understand it now uses more of the inside space with all new areas that were not available before and even some areas completely repurposed ! Some lines have been made shorter but better, other lines have more options and made significantly longer. Two areas in particular that were not very good lines have been completely redone and hopefully improved !
The changes I heard about sound great but I guess until the place is filled with riders it is hard to imagine what it will ride and feel like.
Looking forward to it opening and seeing for myself !

Permalink Reply by Steveo Hailer on September 27, 2011 at 11:12am The new jumps look good painted red, I rode them Friday and they were unpainted. I have been working at Rays MKE last month or so. The new jump loop is far better than the old beginner jumps they replaced ! See ya all on Saturday !
