Unfortunately the Metro Challenge for 2010 has been cancelled. Scheduling conflicts at Crystal Ridge did not allow us to use the lodge. Erosion control construction on the north end of the cap, contracted by Milwaukee county, has greatly reduced our ability to use the cap and the Kevin's Heaven singletrack. The near record rainfall this summer in Milwaukee has resulted in much more trail maintenance issues this year at Crystal Ridge and the Alpha trail. We hauled literally tons of lannon stone out on the trails to armor them in an effort to make them more ridable. We added over 150 feet of boardwalk and bridging to the Alpha Trail. All the while we were also maintaining our other trails in Milwaukee county that were also affected by the flooding this year. All this extra unplanned work has really put a strain on our finances this year and has burned out our core group of volunteers.
Sorry for any inconvenience and thanks for understanding.
