WORS Iola race

Apparently this crazy spring weather has caused the Iola race director to postpone his race until May 19th. Please check WORS.ORG for further details and other race date changes.

Any thoughts on this concept?

The tread pattern is very unrealistic but it's all I could find for right now. Any suggestions?

I road bike and trail bike to work every day and have a collection of other bikes, I just don’t get the chance to make it to the trails. Here are the specs for the bike;

Milwaukee River trail work day?

Are we going to be working on the trails tonight (weather permitting)? If so, where are we meeting?

I do also owe the group an apology. I can not hold Metro in anyway responsible for what happened in Cambridge Woods. My attitude posting during a past trail maintenance day was uncalled for.

"Multi-Use" Trails & biking

Hey everyone, I recently moved to Riverwest and noticed some great rough trails running along either side the Milwaukee river. My question is can I Bike on them? or do I have to stay on the oak leaf and beer line "trails"? I have spoken to a few people at the County Parks office and have heard contradicting views on the matter. Any thoughts on the subject would be much appreciated, thanks!

Even Tuesdays anyone?

Last night's Odd Tuesday was great, but a little short and a little wet :-). Thanks again Harold for hosting these rides!

Would there be any unofficial interest in riding at Hoyt, Oak Hills, Crystal Ridge or the River Trail on the even Tuesdays? Just curious who would be up for it?

MTBing in Milwaukee

Hi Everyone,

I have recently moved to MKE for grad school at Marquette. I have been looking into some of the trails of milwaukee to do some riding(Joel's river adventure and the river trail) and was wondering how safe are they? I currently live down by Marquette and know that there are some bad neighborhoods on this side of the city as well as some up by the UWM campus. If anyone can give me some guidance, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Nick

Public Hearing about a bike path over the Hoan bridge

Monday, November 14, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the DOT downtown office building located at 1001 W. St. Paul Avenue in Milwaukee.  Chris Larson and other elected officials from MKE will be there.  Unfortunately I will be in class, but a show of support would be a good thing.  Attend if you can.

Alpha trail

It would appear that the trail, on the 'out' lane (away from 92nd towards 76) when it runs along the Root River, there is a tree blocking the lane, forcing the rider (me, in this case) to turn back, and continue my ride on the 'inbound' lane until, a few hundred yards up, where I can cut back over again. Of course, this basically forces you to ride onto incoming traffic-not the most sound idea. Does anyone have an alternative route they use to go around this? I use the trail map from… Continue
