Hey everyone, I recently moved to Riverwest and noticed some great rough trails running along either side the Milwaukee river. My question is can I Bike on them? or do I have to stay on the oak leaf and beer line "trails"? I have spoken to a few people at the County Parks office and have heard contradicting views on the matter. Any thoughts on the subject would be much appreciated, thanks!

Welcome to the dilemma that is MTBing the "River Trails"... Currently NONE of the "trails" along MKE River are legally open to MTBing. Metro is working with the Milwaukee River Greenway Coalition to develop a management plan for the corridor and the over 30 different property owners involved. If you want, lend a hand on workday, currently planned for most Monday evenings all summer long.

Just spoke to Ann form the MRGC, sounds like they are working on getting the trails approved for biking with low impact on the environment. I will definitely give them a hand whenever feasible.  If I'm not mistaken the meet up location is on Concordia & Gordon at 5 p.m.
