Milwaukee Wisconsin
Can anyone tell me if I will be okay using a racing bike on the Oak Leaf Trail in Wisconsin? I'm planning a bike tour around the trail but I'm not from the area. Descriptions of the trail say that it is asphalt, is that correct?
Also, can anyone suggest a good iphone app for biking. Again, I'm doing the Oak Leaf Trail and I was hoping to have some kind of map in place so I could just check my phone. Thanks!
Comment by Mike Arnold on July 8, 2011 at 11:46am If by racing bike you mean road bike, then yes you will be okay. All of the roughly 114 miles or so of Oak Leaf Trail and offshoots are paved or on the street. My suggestion is to go early to avoid walkers and other bikers on the trail. Also, some bridge underpasses are silted over from the heavy rain we had a few weeks ago.

I dont have an i-phone but im assuming all available apps are the same.
