We’re excited to share that we officially broke ground on the new progressive Skills Area at Heritage Trails on March 18th 2026.
This project would not be happening without the incredible support from our individual donors who stepped up during the Dig In fundraising campaign. Your contributions are the reason machines are in the dirt and this vision is becoming reality.
Seeing the first phase of work take shape has been powerful, but it’s also a reminder that rider-supported funding is what drives everything we do at Heritage. New trails, improvements, and projects like this Skills Area all start with the commitment of this community.
Because of you, we’re building a progressive skills area that will serve riders of all levels, helping people learn, grow, progress, and enjoy the mountain biking for years to come.
Gavin will be building out the finished product, which will be second to none in the region. The layout will feature three parallel lines running west to east near the park shelter—beginner, intermediate, and intermediate plus. Each line will start with two drops, followed by a progression of jumps with increasing difficulty, giving riders a safe place to develop skills and progress at their own pace.
From all of us at Metro Mountain Bikers and Washington County, thank you for making this happen.
